One big thing a lot of business owners and marketers whine about is “writer’s block.”
But in my experience, writer’s block is just another boogeyman.
From January 1st till today, I have sent out about 204 emails in 154 days. Which is just about 9 emails every week.
This doesn’t include the emails that have not yet been sent out, the books I have written, training I have created, internal newsletters for my team, landing pages written, ads written, video scripts, podcast episode scripts, etc.
And never did I have “writer’s block” writing them.
Is it because I am some genius with superior literary powers than most people?
As much as I would love that, it is simply not true.
I was actually pretty bad at writing growing up. So much that I needed a tutor specifically for English just to pass my high school exams.
I never needed a tutor for any other subject.
So, how am I able to write marketing copy, day-in, day-out, without facing the insidious writer’s block that plagues other people?
Well, there are layers to this answer.
The first (and easily graspable) layer is that ideas beget ideas.
The more you write, the more ideas you have to write about.
One of my friends recently launched her newsletter after thinking and talking about it for months without doing anything. Between when she started writing and when she was done, she had ideas for 4 new issues of her newsletter.
That’s how ideas work.
However, that’s only one layer.
There are several other layers that can help you to be a more prolific writer, and if you need help writing more consistently or writing better emails, then my Email Audit & Consultation call can help you.
