Why you prolly don’t need copywriting

At least not yet. 

 

Here’s the tea: 

 

A couple years back, I worked with a client who was in the beauty industry. 

 

She sold hair products for women and she was already doing quite well, but we knew she could do better, so we teamed up.

 

A few weeks in, we had an ad up and running and she was getting good results in a matter of days. 

 

A few days later, it dawned on me: 

 

“How did she manage to build a thriving business without any sort of “copywriting” before?”

 

The answer? 

 

Well there are a couple: 

 

  • Firstly, her product was very effective, so word of mouth was almost automatic. 

 

  • She had more reviews than we needed. 

 

  • Her offer was very attractive to her audience.

 

  • She had not just loyal customers but actual “evangelist customers” who would go out of their way to let others know about her.

 

  • She had built up a list of people who were interested in her and her products. 

 

All of these allowed her to build a pretty big business without even using any copywriting whatsoever.

 

So before you tell yourself that your copy/marketing is the problem, look at the list above and ask yourself: 

 

“Do I have all/most of these in place already?”

 

If you don’t, it’ll be wise to start there, before investing a lot of money into marketing.
