It’s the season of love and while everyone is talking about the love they are giving and receiving …
I want to talk about a type of love I have yet to see anyone talk about and that is …
The love for your business.
Yes, I know. That’s not what falentaim is about … but as business owners, this is super important.
Many people start a business doing what they love — whether helping people improve their health … creating superb designs … or building creative furniture.
However, somewhere along the line they find themselves doing work that sucks the joy out of business (and life).
Eventually, what they once loved now becomes a chore. They successfully build a business they hate and live in a prison of their own doing.
I recently saw a comment from a guy who earns $240k talking about how miserable it is … how everything is on his shoulders and how he cannot take more than 2 days off in a row.
He was so emotionally drained that he was contemplating closing down his business totally.
This is the reality for more people than you probably realize, but fret not. Fola is here with a solution.
What is it, you ask?
Be selfish.
By that, I mean build your business around YOU first — put more time into the things that make you thrive, the things that you enjoy doing, the things that make life worth living.
There are no rules in this game.
The only rules are the ones YOU create. Which means YOU can also remove them.
For you to create a business (and quite frankly, a life) you enjoy, you have to be selfish first.
You don’t have to work 15-hour days if you don’t want to …
You don’t have to build a large team, if you don’t want to.
You don’t have to make a gazzilion dollarz, if it’s going to suck the life out of your business.
Ensure you are playing YOUR game and not someone else’s game.
At the end of the day … building something you love requires you to be selfish first. It requires you to create structures that force you to enjoy what you do and live life to the full.
And when (and only when) that is done, can you begin to be selfless. You can then invite other people into that life you have created (including your customers — yes, YOU first … your customers second) and let them enjoy the overflow of the love, joy and happiness you have to offer.
But you have to put YOU first.
I hope this resonates with you — and hopefully has challenged you to rediscover the joy in business and life.
If you would love to grow your business sustainably without increasing the complexity in your life …
