Here the comes the age old question:
“What is the ideal length of an email”
I’m pretty sure some variation of this question has been asked since the Homo Erectus were marching around with clubs and spears made of stones and sticks…
But still, people still want to know. And if you’re one of such people today’s your lucky day.
But before I give you the answer, I want to ask you a question, my dear palsky:
How long should a conversation with your spouse be?
1 minute?
5 minutes?
50 minutes?
5 hours?
What? It is a dumb question?
Really?
Now you get my frustration with the people asking about the length of an email.
Your email, just like a conversation with your spouse should be as long as the freaking conversation needs to be!
Provided he/she doesn’t bore you to sleep, the conversation can be 5 minutes or 5 hours …. IT. DOESN’T. MATTER.
The point is not to write an email with the perfect word count. The point is to write an email that educates, entertains, builds a relationship and most importantly, sells your product/service.
But how exactly do you write such an email?
On one hand, I am launching a “cheatsheet” in a few days that can help inspire you to write entertaining and converting emails.
But on the other hand, this is what my agency, IKON Media, does day-in, day-out.
We help business owners just like you write marketing emails that are designed to build a relationship with their prospects, while also getting them more business.
