Yesterday, I was at the workshop building a project for a client.
We started this project last week but had issues with the machines we wanted to use. We spent several hours trying to fix the issues but it just wasn’t working.
The worst part?
We were running out of time.
I wanted to finish the project yesterday and didn’t want to waste any more time trying to figure out a machine that wasn’t working.
So what did I do?
I simply created a simplistic design that could be achieved using just hand tools.
And then it dawned on me:
Sometimes it’s simply better to eliminate your problems rather than fix them.
Of course, there are times when you really have to roll up your sleeves and figure it out but more often than not, you can simply eliminate the problem altogether. Thereby saving you time, effort and money that you can dedicate to other productive activities.
Fakebook keeps banning your account? Eliminate. Try podcasting or Google ads.
Not converting on your sales calls? Eliminate. Use a webinar instead.
Don’t know what to wear on a date? Eliminate. Who needs clothes anyway?
Okay okay maybe not that
But you get the point.
Everything in the world of business (and marketing) is about speed and the time spent trying to figure out the solution to problems can often be used in other productive ways if we simply eliminated/prevented the problem in the first place.
This can apply to everything from your life … to admin tasks and marketing alike.
From now on, I want you to consciously look for alternative solutions to your problem instead of banging your head against a problem you just can’t figure out.
If the problem you face is marketing-related, then I might be able to help you out.
Simply head over to my website and you will find several blog posts and articles talking about sales, marketing, copywriting and all that jazz. a call and let’s have a chat about it.
