In the spirit of Christmas, I got to thinking:
“What would Jesus do if he had an email list?”
Of course, we would never truly know.
But here are a few things I suspect Jesus would do if he had an email list:
* Tell stories:
Jesus loved stories.
Instead of forcing dry information down people’s throats, he would often wrap the lessons in stories.
So I guess he would do the same in his emails.
* Warn you about false prophets:
Jesus always spoke against the false teachings and false preachers of his time.
Whenever he felt people were being deceived, he made his stance very clear.
In the same vein, if he had an email list, I think he would use it to warn about “false prophets”.
Now I don’t think you should publicly slander people, but you can speak against “harmful teachings” just like Jesus did.
* He would never waste your time:
Whenever people came to Jesus, he always left them with something to think about.
From the woman who was about to be stoned for adultery …
To the Pharisees asking Jesus about tax…
And even to the woman at the well in Samaria…
All his interactions had impact.
And I think it will be the same with his emails.
That’s all for now.
Have a very merry Christmas.
And while you’re at it, use these “Jesus principles” to make your business a lot fatter.
