How to sexify your boring emails.

Let’s play a game.

I’ll show you 3 boring email ideas (not necessarily subject lines, but the main idea of the email), then their sexified version, and you’ll tell me what you notice.

Deal?

Here you go:

Example #1:

Boring: My fool-proof process to playing the piano with ease.

Sexified: If Mozart could teach you to play the piano, here’s what he’d probably say.

Example #2:

Boring: 5 ways to raise your teenagers to be courteous instead of disrespectful

Sexified: My advice to the most prolific mother of all time: Feodor Vassilyev is a Russian woman with the highest number of children ever. She gave birth to 16 pairs of twins, 7 sets of triplets and 4 sets of quadruplets … totalling 69 children! If I were to advise her on raising calm and courteous children, here’s what I would say.

Example #3:

Boring: 3 sweater styles to knit for your loved ones.

Sexified: If Romeo were to knit a sweater for Juliet, he would likely knit one of these styles.

What do you notice?

Write back to me and tell me you notice (and don’t cheat)…

I’m waiting…

Don’t peek…

Okay, here it is:

They all use characters!

The use of characters is one of the easiest ways to make any boring idea instantly more interesting and sexy. Instead of saying “7 tips to improve SEO”, you can say “If Bigfoot had a website, here’s how he would improve SEO”.

And it is not just about using the characters in the subject line, it is about using the characters’ behaviours, personalities and characteristics throughout the email.

Enter Email FastTrack!:

Email #20 is all about how to use characters to make even the driest, most boring topic sexy and exciting for your reader. This has 2 effects:

(2) It increases the chances that people will buy from your email.
