How B2B businesses can profit from email marketing

Here’s a comment from a subscriber that recently read one of my case studies:

“Read the case study….definitely agree with you on the plain text emails!

But I’m curious to know how these tactics would work for a B2B business like mine….”

Well, well, well…

I have noticed that whenever business owners learn a particular strategy, it is easy for most to see why it might work in someone else’s business, but in their own business?

It can’t work.

Their customers are too classy … too sophisticated … would get annoyed … don’t open emails, etc.

If you’ve ever thought like this, then you have fallen into the something known as:

“Uniqueness Bias”

This is a very human trait where we tend to think our experiences, circumstances, and behaviors are unique, when in fact they are not.

No matter who you sell to, what country, level of education, level of sophistication, at what price point, in what medium, their age, etc … ANY type of marketing can work for them.

It doesn’t matter.

Marketing is all about building a relationship with a human being and provided you sell to humans, any marketing strategy (whether email, social media, ads, etc) will work.

But back to my subscriber’s question:

How would my email marketing methods work for a B2B business?

It works the same way.

#1 — Create a guide / case study / training / valuable report that your B2B customers would love to have

#2 — Get people to join your email list in order to get access to the valuable information

#3 — Send relevant emails to them every day about how you, your knowledge, your company can help them

The keyword here is relevant.

What is relevant in B2B, might not be what is relevant in B2C, but it doesn’t matter.

Provided you understand your audience and you are writing interesting, engaging emails that they love to read, your business will grow, you’ll get clients and sales will roll in.

Lastly…

The interesting part about his question is that IKON Media is a B2B company (we sell to businesses) and I write emails and send them day-in-day-out to YOU.

Which means I am living proof that this can work for B2B just as well as it can work for B2C.

Anyhoo, if you need help implementing my method of email marketing in your business (whether B2B or B2C), then let’s have a chat.

Over the chat, I’ll look at your business goals, your current strategy, and look for opportunities to grow.
