About IKON Media
IKON Media is a marketing agency dedicated to helping founders grow their businesses through effective email marketing campaigns and high-impact websites/funnels.
We’re launching How To Win At Business, a YouTube show that explores the strategies behind iconic brands and entrepreneurs, delivering actionable lessons for aspiring business owners. Our mission is to uncover the clues to business success and share them through compelling videos.
With a small team of 4 (and plans to stay under 10), we foster a creative, fast-paced environment where everyone is an active contributor. Our culture encourages growth, pushing the boundaries of knowledge and skills with every project.
Key Responsibilities
1. Video Assembly and Editing
- Cut raw footage into coherent, engaging narratives (both longform and shorts).
- Apply jump cuts, pacing, and rhythm techniques to maximise audience retention.
- Sync audio, music, and sound effects seamlessly.
2. Branding and Storytelling
- Integrate on-screen graphics, captions, memes, and overlays that match our brand’s tone (bold, witty).
- Maintain consistency in style, colour grading, transitions, and overall “feel” across all videos
3. Creative Collaboration
- Work closely with the producer to interpret scripts and storyboards into visual edits.
- Suggest creative editing choices that enhance storytelling (not just execution but ideation).
- Implement feedback quickly while keeping to deadlines.
4. Optimization for YouTube
- Edit with YouTube’s best practices in mind (audience retention, pacing, visual variety).
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience as a video editor (YouTube-specific projects preferred)
- Proficiency with at least one industry standard video editing software (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve)
- Proven ability to edit for storytelling and viewer engagement.
- Solid knowledge of typography, transitions, and visual composition.
- Ability to work independently while sticking to deadlines.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to take feedback.
- Must be able to transform the producer’s vision into edits.
Nice to have (but not compulsory)
- Motion graphics and animation skills.
- Basic video shooting skills(camera, lighting, sound)
Renumeration
Negotiated per project.
