Business growth mentorship from the devil

If the devil were to be your business mentor, what would you learn?

Sometimes in life, we all learn … even from people we don’t like, right?

Well, here are a couple of marketing secrets from the devil:

  1. He is cunning, crafty and conniving:

Every depiction of the devil always shows that he has something up his sleeve.

Nothing is as it seems.

He is always cooking something more than we are seeing.

And the best business owners should be the same way

Not in a bad way.

But being a strategist.

You should always have a well-thought-out game plan.

Don’t just be sending random emails or posts each day.

Think deeper.

  1. Lures you by your desires:

Another thing we see about the devil is that he only tempts you with what you already want.

He doesn’t try to change your desire, but he capitalizes on them.

On the other hand, I’m not saying to exploit people.

But you’ve got to sell them what they want.

If there is no inherent desire for what you sell, you are going to be fighting an uphill battle.

Find out what your audience wants first, then give them a superior version compared to everyone else.

  1. He is unsuspecting:

I once saw a post that said something like:

“The devil doesn’t always come with horns and a pitchfork, sometimes he dresses up like everything you’ve ever wanted”

I.e. he camofulages himself.

Which is actually a very good practice when it comes to marketing.

People love to buy, but hate being sold to.

So your marketing material should NOT look or feel like marketing.

Whether it is an email, facebook ad or even a post.

You want it to feel like regular content.

That’s all for now.

Again, not saying you should be like the devil.

Or emulate any of his attributes.

But you can glean some wisdom from how he operates. and use it for good.
