A few days ago, I wanted to rest, so I decided to spend some time on Instagram.
From post to post, I kept scrolling.
And before I knew it, almost 1 hour had gone by.
I was just on the bed, wasting time – doing practically nothing useful.
That is the addictive power of social media.
The worst part?
We all know this social media addiction is a real thing …
Yet most people still log on each day, wasting valuable time.
Almost like they are compelled to do it.
Whatever the case is, there are 2 lessons I want to pointed out:
- If for whatever reason you are on social media, use it only to create. Not to consume
- Strive to make your content as “addictive” as possible to your ideal audience. So addictive that time moves fast when they are reading/listening to your content (whether that is in email, video or audio). That means writing or speaking in the most compelling way possible.
Even more:
I once heard that people live boring lives and are constantly looking for an escape. That is part of why people are so addicted to their phones.
Your goal should be to make your marketing be this “escape” for them.
Make it so interesting that they keep coming back each day to hear you.
Do this and sooner or later, you’ll have them booking appointments and paying for your services.
Speaking of appointments, if you would like to get more appointments and clients in your business, check out my free book:
“Client Surge”
And it shows my simple (yet highly effective) system for getting people interested and willing to pay a premium for your services.
