A while back, I heard about this concept called:
“Go To Guys”
It was explained by one of the greatest marketing minds to ever walk the earth, Gary Halbert.
Here’s what it means:
Imagine you are captured, you have no means of communication, and you are only allowed to reach ONE person to carry out a certain task.
You don’t know what this task is, you don’t know how expensive it will be, how long it will take, what skills are required, whether or not it is legal, etc.
Essentially, you don’t know the details, but you need someone that would do whatever it takes to carry out that task without question (even if it involves killing a person), or else something extremely terrible will happen (like the murder of your child, or incarceration of your family).
Who are you going to call?
Whoever you call is your “Go To Guy.”
Of course, it is extremely hard to find such a person, and if by chance you have one, hold on to them dearly.
But here is why I bring this up:
When it comes to hiring service providers, you need to look for a “Go To Guy.”
Someone who would go to extraordinary lengths to get your job done without excuses, missed deadlines, or flakiness.
Let’s say you need a website, for instance … you need someone:
* Who can design & develop your website, landing pages, upsells, etc.
* Who can integrate your website with all sorts of third-party tools you require (shopping cart, payment processors, etc.).
* Who would go to ANY length to fix an issue with your website (and do it fast!).
* You can call if your website goes down during a launch and you are at risk of losing several thousands of dollars.
* That gives you the right advice on all things website, software, and tech, so you don’t make any mistakes that can bite you in the arse later on.
* You can trust to keep their word and do what they say they will do, when they say they will do it.
Essentially, you need a “Go To Guy.”
This applies to any kind of service you are hiring for. If you want the best result with utmost peace of mind, simply ask, “Can this person/company be my ‘Go To Guy’?”
If your answer is yes, you’ve found the right person.
That said, IKON Media is currently taking on web design and development clients.
And one thing I constantly enforce on our team is showing up for our clients and ensuring we do everything in our power to get them the results they deserve.
Does that mean we are the “Go To Guys” for everybody? Definitely not.
We might not even be the “Go To Guy” for you.
But we take pride in our work, cherish our clients, and would do everything in our power to protect them from the low-class service providers out there.
If you want to work with such an agency, then let’s have a chat.
Over the call, we’ll discuss your business, your goals, and how your website can move you closer to the goal.
