A few days ago, I watched a youtube video where a guy hired 2 ex-criminals to hack into his company just to see how vulnerable he really was to scammers.
It was a really interesting video and by the end of the video they pretty much had every information about him.
I mean:
- Date of birth
- Instagram credentials
- Twitter credentials
- Youtube credentials
- National insurance number
- Drivers license
- 12 email addresses
- 4 phone numbers
- 5 addresses
- 1 bank statement
- Business bank details
They used all this information to create a fake bank account, a crypto account and bought a house – all in his name.
If they had malicious intent, they could have used his identity to commit whatever crime they want and he could have really ended up in a bad spot.
This video really got me worried about just how vulnerable the average business is.
At the end of the video, I was practically ready to pay for a solution.
Anything to help prevent something like that from happening to me.
Unfortunately, the guy in the video wasn’t promoting anything related to that.
But if he had, he would have made out like a bandit.
This just shows the power of a good story.
Everybody loves a good story – and even better, people love to buy from stories.
Stories are very unsuspecting in nature and if done right are more powerful than any other form of selling.
In the case of the youtube video, the guy wasn’t even selling anything related to identity protection, but his story still sold me.
Now imagine how powerful this can be for your own business when you actually want to sell something.
Speaking of stories,
There is a section in my book: “Client Surge” that talks all about how to use stories in emails to make sales in a way that people love to buy.
